You want the Truth? You can't handle the Truth!!!

According to news reports over the weekend Karl Rove had contacted Matt Cooper just days before the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame was revealed publicly in the media. Now whether this is evidence that Rove was the leak or not is very sketchy at this time. Currently it just comes across as fishy. But even if true it is very doubtful anything will be done about it. Most likely, once again, both sides will claim the other is lying and trying to cover up the truth and things will continue as they have been. This is sad. The truth has been a casualty in Washington for decades. But since Clinton defeated Bush I in 1992, it seems the truth has been on an extented leave of absence. Almost nothing coming out of Washington can be trusted. Scientific reports come out of the Administration edited in such a way as to obscure the science. Medicare reform is enacted using cost estimates the Administration KNOWS are grossly inaccurate.


So how can we trust anything when the government is pushing an agenda, the media is pushing an agenda, universities are biased and Think Tanks are PAID to support a specific version of the truth? There is only one solution and that is the Centrist Way. Only by the creation of a Think Tank that eliminates political considerations and only reviews the raw facts can we be guaranteed of coming even close to the truth. But nobody wants to know the truth. Its easier to believe people like Rush Limbaugh or Michael Moore when they support your preconceived beliefs than it is to listen with an open mind to information that may prove your beliefs to be false. Until people are willing to listen with an open mind we will never have the truth.
