Open Mouth - Insert Feet

John McCain has once again hurt his own campaign. Its a shame because I actually like him. In case you haven't heard McCain made a little joke about bombing Iran. It was just a dumb little comment, but boy did the media jump on it. I don't know whether bombing Iran would be McCain's idea of good foreign policy or whether he was just playing to the crowd. What I do know, and what this whole thing shows, is that if you want to be President of the United States, you can NEVER make dumb little jokes about anything, especially when it comes to dropping bombs on foreign countries. Whether a pre-emptive strike is a good idea or not I leave for another day. But I think all the hopefuls will take this little episode to heart and learn that they have to watch what they say at all times.

Back again after no popular demand

Well, I'm back. We're more than 18 months from the '08 presidential election and the way things are going among possible contenders you'd think the election was only weeks away. I'm going to be doing a podcast called The Center Lane and will have it linked here for discussion purposes. We'll see how it goes and if I can stay at it longer than last time.
