John G. Roberts

So the President has chosen John G. Roberts. An interesting pick, if only for how little outrage his nomination has evoked. All parties seem to be waiting to see what the other side does. Just based on the reaction over the last couple days and reading various reports it sounds like he shouldn't have too difficult a nomination hearing and that most pundits seem to think he will get the ok. This can only been viewed as a positive sign for the future. If both sides have realized that the poisonous atmosphere that has plagued Washington since Clinton was in office has alienated most of America, then perhaps we are in for a more dignified and courteous political atmosphere. However, I still get the feeling that the slightest thing could ignite the whole thing again. We'll see.
